Qualified, Trained and Equipped with the Latest Technology |
|
Our Service Engineers are friendly and committed professionals. They are trained in root cause analysis and analytical troubleshooting techniques using facts to resolve problems, not speculation. TRUMPF's focus today is on reducing the troubleshooting - or diagnostic - time involved in the service process since it is troubleshooting time - not fix time - that keeps a machine down and out of production. |

We hire the right people |

TRUMPF requires that new service engineers have a minimum of two years academic training in either electronics or mechanical engineering. TRUMPF also actively recruits from the electronic and mechanical fields within the military.
Once hired, service engineers are enrolled in a rigorous internal training program. This lasts between six to eight months and is led jointly by TRUMPF system designers and by TRUMPF’s certified trainers. It is divided into modular segments covering mechanics, controls, drives, electronics and lasers (where applicable). |

We train them rigorously |

Naturally, service personnel are taught how to program and operate the machines or lasers that they will be supporting. But, they are also required to spend time working on the production line to develop a deeper understanding of the anatomy of each machine.
Recently, TRUMPF restructured its training program to focus on competency-based learning rather than just skill-based learning.
Once a service engineer understands the problem, the solution is easy to implement. By focusing on reduced troubleshooting time, we are effectively able to increase customer productivity. |

We equip them with the latest technology |

 |
As part of a technology-driven company, service pursues its mission using the latest tools. Service engineers in the field are equipped with state-of-the-art laptops and a CD-ROM database of the latest TRUMPF technical information.
The laptops also come complete with TRUMPF's proprietary software used for accessing product history of TRUMPF machines. TRUMPF’s service engineers travel with cell phones and digital cameras and are able to upload immediate detailed information to headquarters about the service issue at hand. |
