Two recently introduced tools from TRUMPF are changing the way fabricators look at their punching machines. These two new TRUMPF innovations - the Multishear and Multibend - are designed to reduce the need for secondary manufacturing operations.
The hallmark of the Multishear punching tool is a smooth, shear-edge quality cut. A combination of new tooling, software and programming make it possible to punch sheet metal up to 0.120 inches (mild steel) without overlap or unsightly nibble marks.
The Multibend tool also fits in well among lean manufacturing initiatives. One of the tool’s key benefits is that it reduces the need for secondary equipment and processes. As a punching tool that bends, the Multibend brings fabricators another step closer to performing start-to-finish fabrication on one machine.
