Laser Technology Highlight of TRUMPF Booth at IMTS

At the IMTS 2004 trade show in Chicago, Illinois from September 8-15, TRUMPF Inc. will show a variety of precision laser technology in booth 6108.

Two new laser sources will be introduced to the North American market at the IMTS show. TRUMPF Inc. will introduce a new diode-pumped solid-state laser, called the disk laser, which is ideally suited for remote welding tasks. The disk laser’s combination of good beam quality and high power levels creates new processing capabilities for cutting or welding thick sheet metal.

Another highlight of the show will be the TCF 1, a new compact, diffusion-cooled CO2 laser resonator. Weighing just 550 pounds, the TCF 1 is one of the lightest and most compact beam sources in the power rating class of up to 2 kilowatts. Potential areas of application include laser material processing of thin sheet metal as well as non-metallic materials such as glass, plastic, wood and textiles.

TRUMPF will demonstrate the PowerWeld laser welding workstation and four different types of compact laser marking systems: the new VectorMark impact, the new VectorMark 1200 workstation, the VMc6 UV laser, and the VMc3 infrared laser. VectorMark systems are well-known for their reproducibility and accessibility in even hard-to-reach locations. Developed for applications in mold and tool construction, the TRUMPF PowerWeld workstation is used for precision welding of small and large work pieces and has established itself as a dependable repair and modification method.
