Schlueter Named Vice President, Laser for TRUMPF Inc.

FARMINGTON, Conn., July 17, 2006 – Dr. Holger Schlueter has been appointed as vice president, laser for TRUMPF Inc., a subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group, the world market and technology leader in lasers and laser systems for manufacturing technology.

In this new role, Dr. Schlueter will oversee all laser-related manufacturing, research and development at TRUMPF Inc. Laser Assembly Manager Steve Tower, Laser Development Manager Jochen Deile, and Laser Marking Systems Product Manager Peter Grollman will report directly to Dr. Schlueter.

Most recently, Dr. Schlueter was vice president and general manager of TRUMPF Photonics Inc., a manufacturer of high-power diode laser sources near Princeton, New Jersey. Before that he was director of laser production and development for TRUMPF Inc. and director of technology for TRUMPF Photonics. Dr. Schlueter has worked with high-power lasers for industrial applications since 1993 and holds several patents in the field of laser resonators and laser applications.
