FARMINGTON, Conn., December 12, 2007 – TRUMPF Inc. will demonstrate their precision laser marking and welding capabilities for the medical industry at MD & M West 2008. Since 1985, MD&M West has provided an unparalleled array of resources for the design and manufacture of both current and next-generation medical devices. The show takes place January 29 to 31, 2008 in Anaheim, CA, and TRUMPF will be highlighting their products at Booth # 2869.
Product highlights at the show include: The TruPulse 124 with PFO 20, and the TruMark Series 6000.
The TruPulse 124 laser is a pulsed solid-state laser specifically designed for high pulse-to-pulse stability, and is especially suitable for closing the titanium housings of pacemakers, defibrillators and implanted pumps. By increasing pulse frequency, the welding cycle is reduced. Precision welding of thin foil, fine wire, and thin-walled tubing are possible with the advanced pulse energy of the TruPulse lasers. The PFO 20 will be shown with the TruPulse 124 and features time-saving capabilities, with the highest beam on time and increased productivity.
TRUMPF’s TruMark Series 6000 marking lasers, available in three wavelengths (355nm, 532nm and 1064nm), are characterized by superior mark quality, a high level of flexibility, and seamless traceability of medical instruments and implants. The marks are fast, abrasion-resistant, and durable, even if the component is moving (marking on the fly), or if the mark has to be performed on several levels without moving the laser or the component. High-contrast marking on most materials (metals, plastics, ceramics) is achieved by TRUMPF’s superior beam quality and very stable pulse-to-pulse stability.
