Sales growth at TRUMPF Medical Systems
Ditzingen (Germany), July 23, 2012 – By the close of its 2011/12 fiscal year, TRUMPF Medical Systems achieved sales of 227 million dollars. The medical technology manufacturer thus achieved an almost 5 percent increase in sales year-on-year. Incoming orders grew at twice the pace, by almost 10 percent.
Harald Völker, Head of the TRUMPF Group’s Medical Technology Division, commented on these preliminary figures: “The technological leadership of our surgical lights has paid off in the form of increased market share. But our supply systems, in particular the TruPort ceiling-mounted supply unit, also experienced strong growth.”
TRUMPF is currently investing in expanding its Saalfeld location in Thuringia, where remodeling and extensions, valued in double-digit millions, is underway. Up to 400 new jobs could be created by the time this work is completed.
TRUMPF Medical Systems currently has 720 employees globally. Its two main sites are located in Saalfeld and in Puchheim near Munich. It has subsidiaries in the USA, France, the UK, Austria and China. TRUMPF Medical Systems is represented in more than 80 countries worldwide.
In the fiscal year 2011/12, which ended in June, the TRUMPF Group reported sales of 2.325 billion Euros. This is the highest level of sales the family-owned company has ever achieved. TRUMPF will present its final figures at its annual results press conference on October 18, 2012. Over the past fiscal year TRUMPF created more than 1,000 new jobs. The company's personnel figures rose to over 9,600.
