Flexibility Redefined at the 2012 NTI
Charleston, SC -- Many medical equipment manufacturers say they improve flexibility. And, to a degree, they may do that. When, however, a company offers solutions that significantly improve hospital workflows and the way care can be delivered, talking about just improving flexibility doesn’t seem enough. That’s the case with TRUMPF Medical Systems, Inc. “We’re really redefining flexibility, allowing clinicians to care for patients in a way not previously possible,” according to Steve Palmer, TRUMPF’s Director of Marketing. As an example, Palmer points to the TRUMPF TruPort which will be on display at the upcoming AACN National Teaching Institute Exposition, May 22 - 24.
Like all TRUMPF Equipment Management Systems (also known as Booms), the ceiling-mounted TruPort allows equipment and services to be brought within reach – and just as easily moved out of the way. TRUMPF Booms remove the obstacles presented by multiple carts, wires, hoses and headwall connections, allowing unimpeded 360-degree patient access.
TruPort, however, takes the proven Boom concept and advances it by introducing an unmatched degree of modularity. With TruPort, a clinician - working without any tools - can reposition control handles, side rails, etc. anywhere along the height and all four sides of the support head, in seconds. Likewise shelves, gas/electric/low voltage modules can be easily repositioned by trained facilities / biomed personnel (no need for a service call).
“That means whether you need to change the equipment you have bedside, reposition the patient or reorient the whole room for better observation or patient comfort, you are free to do whatever your staff and patients need,” says Palmer.
Accessories Expand TruPort’s Possibilities
“And with one of the widest range of critical care accessories on the market, TRUMPF has taken the concept of flexible care delivery and made it a practical reality,” adds Mike Bender, TRUMPF’s Vice President Sales, Critical Care Division. “Nurses no longer need to work around the configuration of the equipment,” says Bender. “You can set up an individualized, optimal care environment for each patient, without limits and without work-arounds.”
In addition to its full range of shelves, drawers, side rails, lights, baskets and clamps, TRUMPF will introduce a new dock-on trolley, iPod dock and electronic drawer lock at the NTI.
Light Where It’s Needed
This year’s NTI will also see the introduction of TRUMPF’s latest LED procedure lights: The TruLight 1000 and TruLight 3000. TRUMPF LED procedure lights allow clinicians to bring light where they need it for bedside and emergency procedures. The smallest of its procedure lights, the new TruLight 1000 can be integrated into the Boom arm system, literally putting high quality light at the clinical staff’s fingertips for each patient. The TruLight 3000 is for rooms that may need surgical quality light for performing minor procedures.
Changing Perspectives in Critical Care
“When you look at TruPort; our accessories, the point-of-care procedure lights, no-lift equipment transport solutions (EasyTrans), and our ability to integrate with high acuity patient care solutions such as advanced neurological monitoring systems, you have to change your perspective,” says TRUMPF President and CEO, Andy Reding. “This isn’t just an incremental improvement in flexible patient care; TRUMPF is really offering flexibility redefined.”
Clinicians, managers and equipment planners will have a hands-on opportunity to experience TRUMPF’s full range of flexible Critical Care solutions in Orlando, Florida at NTI Booth 3240, May 22 – 24, 2012. For further information call 1-888-474-9359 or email info(at)us.TRUMPF-Med.com.
