TRUMPF earns CQIA Award
10/11/2010FARMINGTON, Conn., October 11, 2010-TRUMPF Inc. is a recipient of an award from Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership, Inc. (CQIA) for its ability to successfully bring to the marketplace new products and services, even in a faltering economy.
A letter from CQIA, signed by Sheila Carmine, the organization's founder and executive director, stated, in part:
"The twelve 2010 CQIA Innovation Prize (CIP) examiners agreed that TRUMPF used numerical results from the last five years to earn a gold CIP for the TruLaser 1030 with its energy efficient TruCoax 2000 laser resonator. ... We find that 96% of organizations applying for the CQIA Innovation Prize have accepted the challenge of developing unique products, services and processes capable of tackling real-world problems."
Just nine months after the TruLaser 1030 was launched, the 100th machine assembled at TRUMPF's Farmington location rolled off the production line. This 2D laser cutting system is truly a marvel of innovation. The 1030 boasts all of the features of TRUMPF technology at an incredible price-opening the door to new business opportunities for sheet metal fabricators of all sizes.
And with the ever increasing focus on "green" manufacturing, the TruLaser 1030 is a machine that meets energy efficiency objectives for TRUMPF and sheet metal fabricators. For example, using stand-by mode when the machine is not in operation significantly reduces energy consumption. Also, the energy efficient TruCoax 2000 laser resonator contributes toward the machine's low operating costs. The resonator's small, pre-mixed gas bottle lasts for at least one year, and the moving exhaust system captures fumes during the cutting process.
TRUMPF, along with other CQIA award winners, will participate in the 23rd Annual Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Conference on Quality and Innovation held at Water's Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook on October 29.
The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) is the nation's first state level quality award using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria in a campaign to advance innovative programs that improve quality, performance and marketplace competitiveness.
